Contest Winner

Every year at Dennison's office they have a cubicle-decorating contest at Christmas time. Here's Dennison's cubicle. He tied for first place. It's an "Elf" theme, from the movie Elf.

He lowered his desk, took Carter's tiny chairs in, and put up a low roof so he would look huge in the little house, just like Buddy.

For the judging, he dressed up as Buddy the Elf. Behind him is a jack-in-the-box and and etch-a-sketch. There's also the "arctic puppets" on the wall. I must say, it is pretty incredible

Santa Claus

Carter has had some pretty awesome experiences with Santa this year. First, he got a candy cane from him in the mall. Then he got a letter from Santa letting him know that Carter is on his list and Santa will be visiting our house Christmas Eve! He also sent an autographed picture of himself (seen above), a page to color and some stickers (seen below). He carried that picture around with him all day telling me "Mommy look! Sant-to Cwas!"

(Don't you love the top half of our tree?)
So when we told Carter that we were going to go meet Santa, he was pretty stoked. They both ran to the door. Once inside, the fear set in. What is it about Santa that is so terrifying to every single child under the age of 4? His beard? Too much red? I'll never know.

Jude felt betrayed

Carter still cried even though I held him and just sat next to Santa.

The Recovery:

The candy cane seemed to fix everything. He still wouldn't get too close, but he sat and watched all the other kids talk to Santa.

Just about an hour ago, our Christmas package from my mom got dropped off on our doorstep with a quick knock on the door. I picked up the package and when I brought it inside Carter said, "San-to Cwas!" It cracked me right up.

a photo update

This boy still loves olives. I was reminded of last Christmas time when we were in Utah and Carter literally thieved the olives off of Sylvia's plate while we were out to dinner. Sorry again, Sylv!

This picture is so funny to me because of the silly face he's making and also his funny bedhead hair. And the dribble of milk on his chin.

This is how he always sits (when he's sitting and not squatting, standing, trying to escape, etc.) in his high chair.

Mere moments after this picture was taken, the box toppled over and both boys ended up with matching bumps on their heads. Is it bad that it was really funny to me?? probably...

I don't even know what to say, they're just cute.

Doesn't he look so sweet in this one? Dennison likes his hair when it gets flat like this. It only happens after he sleeps on his curls.

Jude was putting his dinner into this fruit snacks package before eating it.

Sometimes, he refuses to put clothes on. And it's cold. So he gets wrapped in my blanket. And loves it.

I love Jude's cute little face! Imagine him saying "football" as he pointed, cause that's what happened. Dennison was so proud.

Carter was being so sweet and doing soft tickles to Jude's face while he drank his bottle. Carter calms down so fast when I do soft tickles on his face so he wanted to share the love with Jude.

a chicken and a dragon

Carter won the costume contest at our ward party (not to brag, or anything).
He was a chicken last year, too.

Oh, it's real

The Dentist

Carter had his first dentist visit today. He woke up a few weeks ago with a crooked tooth. He must've hit it on something? Anyways, it's kinda loose and noticeably crooked (you can kinda see it in this picture - the front left tooth) so I made him an appointment. He loved sitting in the big chair all by himself and watching cartoons while they took an x-ray and checked out his tooth. The dental hygienists were all cracking up at how relaxed he was just watching Popeye. They gave him three little toy cars along with a new toothbrush. He was so sad when we had to leave. Overall, it was a huge success.

And the tooth should just gradually move back into alignment (just in time to fall out, of course).
