Never a dull moment.....

Carter got the cutest hand-knitted sweater from his grandma for his birthday! Lucky for him it's been so dang cold her that he got to wear it a few times even though it's JUNE!! Doesn't he look handsome?!

I try to have Carter wait until Dennison gets home from work so we can all eat dinner together. I put some food on his tray so it can start to cool off but if he sees me put it there, it's over. He just stands there and eats until he can't reach anymore then he whines until I put him in the high chair. So impatient!
While I was cooking dinner, this is what the Dennisons were up to. It says I {heart} Mom, if you can't read it. When I saw it, I laughed and then Dennison said to Carter, "Yay! We finally found a way to write on you without Mom getting mad!" Silly boys.

Carter and I get to take a swimming class together! We signed up with a couple other Mom's in our ward and it's so much fun. Unfortunately, it's right in the middle of nap time so I either don't put him down for a nap at all or I have to wake him up after an hour or less.

Here he is a little happier with his pacifier. And don't worry, he was sad when I wouldn't let him take his blanky into the pool with us.

One of Carter's favorite games now is to hide his sippy cup. He puts it in the seat of his car, in one of my pots in the cupboard, in his dresser drawer, or just upside down on the floor. It's pretty funny, I just have to remember to go look for it if I haven't seen it in a while.... that would not be a fun surprise a couple days later. yuck. So there's a small glimpse into the excited life of Carter. What a fun boy he is!

Birthday Bash

Carter is so old! I can't believe it's already been a whole year. It has gone by so fast! He now weighs 20 lbs and 7 ounces and is 30 inches tall. He loves strawberries and peaches and I just found out that he doesn't care too much for quesadillas. His doctor was very impressed with his fast walking skills and his handsome smile. He loves taking baths and stealing our cell phones when we're not looking. His favorite toys are his new spongebob ball and his spiderman car. We're so blessed to have such a wonderful boy! Here's some pics from his 1st birthday party. His bff Kaylie has a birthday coming up in a few days so it was a 2 in 1 party. We had so much fun watching them make a double huge mess. Thanks Katie and Tommy for letting us use your beautiful backyard for the festivities!!

Spongebob

We got Carter this silly little spongebob squarepants rubber ball for his birthday. Who knew spongebob would make such a good sidekick? Here he is at his b-day party with him.

And of course, eating breakfast with him. These are just a few places that spongebob has seen. He goes everywhere with Carter. He also threw/kicked/chased it all over the gym during sunday school. It's the perfect size to fit right in his little hand, I think that's why he likes it.

Carter is a one-year-old!!! I can't believe how fast this past year has gone! We're having a birthday bash for him tonight and we're going to see the doctor tomorrow, so stay tuned for update/pictures!!!

Happy Birthday DAD!!

My Dad's birthday was yesterday. We were sad we couldn't be there to celebrate and eat strawberry shortcake with him. My Dad's the best and I'm so happy he's my dad, although in the picture I look a little grumpy. I hope you had a wonderful birthday Dad, and we're so excited to see you soon!

Happy Birthday!!

My Dennison turned 30 yesterday!!!!!!! It's a good thing my parents are so kind and sent him a few gifts (thanks M & D) because he got his gift from me a couple weeks ago. I had a great idea to get him a dvd player because he really wanted one and we just canceled our cable. We had been looking around at them but decided not to buy one yet (I had to talk him out of it a couple times so I could surprise him with it). So then a couple weeks ago he decided that he'd waited long enough and he was just going to go get one. I told him that's what I was getting him for his birthday so happy early birthday!! This happened last year too. Oh well, maybe next year I can surprise him. Aside from his impatience for b-day gifts, Dennison is so cool. I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful husband and to know that we will be together forever. He's an amazing dad, a great husband, and a spectacular friend. He's a great problem solver and so smart. I could go on and on so let me just say that I couldn't have dreamed up a better man to be married to. He's always doing things to make me happy and he can almost always make me laugh. So happy birthday Dennison!!!

updates

Walking is Carter's #1 choice for getting around now. I'm not sure what I did to my camera to make it record in sepia instead of regular color.... weird. And along his way down the hall you can see the mess he makes every day:)


He loves to chew on these foam disks from our disk guns. He walks around the house with two of them in his mouth, and then he'll sit and play for a while. I think he forgets that they're there. It's so funny.

New Toy

Carter loves his new spiderman car. His favorite part of course, is the horn. He pushes it all over the house and as you can see below, has found a new way to get into trouble! He can reach so many more cool things now! What a crazy kid!
