A visit from Gma and Gpa

My parents came over for a visit a few weeks ago. Carter LOVED having them here. We had so much fun with them. We went for walks while Carter rode his tricycle...

Grandpa read about a million books with Carter....

Grandma showed him all the pictures and videos on her camera....

We went to the park....

We rode the tram in Portland.... our trip down there didn't turn out as planned, but we salvaged the evening over a yummy seafood dinner.

My boys attack anyone who lays on the floor. Good thing Grandma loves them...

Carter loves to give "big hugs". His favorite is when his big hug knocks you over.

He has always refused to wear a bib while eating but while playing, he thinks it's pretty cool.

Thanks for coming to see us! Hopefully we'll see you again soon!!

more Carter stories

Carter makes me laugh so much every day. He's so creative and is always coming up with something.... He has really taken a liking to this little stuffed cat. He wraps him up in his blanket and carries him around.

He WILL NOT let me put clothes on him anymore. He has to do it all himself. If I do manage to put something on, he will take it off and put it right back on himself and then say, "I did it!" The proper order of the different articles of clothing is yet to be learned. As well as the fact that you really only need one shirt on at a time.

My older brother has always liked the "sharp edges" of blankets, sheets, whatever. He, in fact, just asked my mom where he could buy some sharp edged sheets. Carter is following in his footsteps, it seems.

The other day, Carter put his shoes on, came and gave me a kiss and said, "bye! going work!" He then got on his tricycle and headed for the front door. Then he wanted me to help him open it. It was hilarious. Then yesterday he did it again, only this time he took his cat to work with him.

Carter's tower

Carter usually doesn't have a problem kicking down towers that I build out of these blocks. But since he helped build most of this one, he wasn't quite so anxious to knock it down. I love how he notices the camera half way through so he poses and says "cheeeeese". Love this kid!

rain

It's been a beautiful summer here. Yesterday and today it's been rain, rain, rain, rain..... you get the idea. So last night, we got Carter some new rain boots since he's long outgrown the ones from last winter. He's been wearing them ever since, including to church today. On our way there, he loved running through the puddles. Unfortunately for everyone, he fell head first into one of the deeper ones so he was pretty wet once we got there. On the way home, we stopped to take some pictures. It's a good thing he likes the rain, cause there's plenty more in store for us.
