For my Mom

This is what you have to look forward to when you come visit in a couple months!!!

some pictures I love

This picture is great and here's why: I'm trying to get closer to my husband and my son is punching my throat, Dennison is not smiling, Carter's pants are Steve Erkle-ish, and my hair is doing something weird. Meanwhile, my bff and her hubby just look so darling and perfect. No wonder they didn't want to stand too close to us! It doesn't look like we belong in the same picture together, but there we are!

Carter loves cuddling with Papa before bed

Look at those chubby cheeks!

ready for church

he's funny

Carter has mastered the art of climbing. He just discovered that he can climb up on these chairs and he just sits there and looks around and puts his cup or whatever else on the table. I think he's pretending to be an adult. It makes me laugh every time. I can't believe how huge he's getting!!

This was really funny and the picture doesn't do it justice. My mom and dad will especially like this one, I'm sure. They got Carter these glow sticks and he loves them! He had one the other day and he was trying to get it to stay on top of his cup while he drank from it. It would of course slip down and hit his face when he tipped the cup so he'd set it down and try again. I'm sure this is one of those "you had to be there" kind of stories but I couldn't resist sharing it anyways.

A few things that have made me happy....

I was feeling a little depressed last night (pregnancy hormones!) and so I was thinking of all the things that make me happy. This is just a short recap of my thoughts. Enjoy!

1~First, a little background: Lately I've been putting all of Carter's dirty diapers in plastic walmart bags out on our porch and then Dennison takes them to the dumpster when he gets home. A little white trash, I know, but it helps keep the stink out of our house. So anyway, last week this little boy, probably about 8 or 9 years old, knocks on my door and offers to take my trash out. The way he worded it was a little confusing so I asked him what he meant and he said, "Would it be ok if I took your trash out for a dollar a bag?" A DOLLAR A BAG??!!!!! Who does he think he is?! Michael Jackson?? Come on! Keep in mind that these bags are not big by any means and they weren't even all the way full. It was hard not to laugh but I held it back and just respectfully declined. Maybe if I had cash I would've let him do it but I didn't. So since there's always a bag of trash out there, he comes back every day! It makes me laugh.

2~I get to take warm showers again! Last week/weekend was ssoooooo HOT!! It got over 100 for a couple days and we don't have air conditioning. Wow, it was hot. So in an effort to cool down, I had been taking cool baths and showers 3 or 4 times a day. But not anymore!!! I took such a long hot shower yesterday and today and it felt ssooooo gooooooood!

3~We took a tour of the hospital where our baby will be born! It's pretty new and really cool. It's so much more relaxed and calm compared to Utah Valley Hospital. It made me very excited.

4~The other day Dennison put my headband on Carter. Since then, he's been trying to put it on himself and it's so funny to watch. He puts it up over his head and down on the back of his neck where it will sometimes stay for a few minutes while he walks around the house. He also has been pushing the laundry basket around and filling/emptying his toys in and out of it.

5~We're moving out of our apartment in a week and a half!!!!! I thought this day would never come but it's almost here! And we found a very nice place to move to. Yea!!

6~I went to see my midwife today and I'm measuring a little small. This makes me happy thinking that my baby will just be a little smaller (not too small though). And then it makes me nervous thinking that maybe he'll come after his due date because he's not big enough. I was always measuring big with Carter and he was almost 3 weeks early. It also makes me happy because I'm not very uncomfortable YET since I'm not quite as big as I was last time at this point.

7~The other day Dennison said something really funny to Carter. I don't even remember what it was now but I laughed and laughed and I'm so happy to have such a funny husband.

the park

We went to this fun park yesterday with our friends. They created this pond/lake from the river and they also have a little kid play zone with water that shoots out of the concrete and toys and things. It's a cool place and it's free! Carter had a blast and it was a great way to stay cool since our house is like a sauna!

Jubilee Videos

I finally got these to work. This first one is the tree climbing competition. This guy is the world champion right now.

And this is a little taste of the lawn mower races!

Loggers Jubilee!!

This is at Grandpa Harris' house. Carter loved watching his guinea pigs. He also liked poking them and he even tried to kick this one. He must have that he would bounce like his spongebob ball:)

Carter loves being the center of attention and he certainly was this weekend! We went up to Morton, WA for the annual Loggers Jubilee! The first night was the lawn mower races! It was awesome!!! I have a video but I can't upload it right now. That night we camped right next to a cliff.... seriously, I was a little scared. Almost 7 month pregnant, air mattress, potty breaks every hour, and rain don't all mix well. The next morning Dennison's sister April made us a delicious breakfast and then we went back into town for more fun. We went to the parade (small town parades are hilarious), watched the bed races, had lunch with the Highams (Carter's girlfriend), and went to the lumberjack competitions. I really should have taken more pictures but I was so relaxed watching all the events while Aunt April and Aunt Heather played with Carter.

Not the best pictures but you can kinda see all the fun stuff that was going on.

He thinks he's tricking me...

So about a month ago, Carter got his leg stuck in his crib. I went and helped him out and held him and took him back out to the living room with us even though he was supposed to be sleeping. "Well that worked out quite well" he thought. So now he does it on purpose. Whenever he doesn't want to go to sleep he gets his little leg stuck so that we'll go get him. Sometimes he even fakes like he's stuck but when we walk in the room he pulls his leg out and smiles like he won. The other day, they were both stuck really bad and it took me about 5 minutes to wiggle him free. He hasn't done it again since then.
