this one is for grandma

My favorite part is when Jude knocks out his pacifier and he says, "oh no baby"

a package from grandma and grandpa

Carter got some new monkey jammies!
And then he put his boots on, of course

And Jude got some new socks! Hand-knitted by grandma, or maybe grandpa, I'm not sure.

Connie's request

I've done this tag before but have since transferred everything over to our new computer so a different photo you will see! Fourth photo in the fourth folder (in the fourth folder - I'm a little nuts about organization)This picture made me laugh out loud (lol, if you will) when I saw it again. We had this cute little kitten for about 2 days after we first moved here. I was feeling very sad about leaving our two cats with my sister when we moved and we were also low on friends so our solution: a new kitten. I think it was around the second poop on our floor and the first pounce on Carter's head that we decided that she wasn't a good fit for our family. She was so stinkin cute though! Oh Jaunita, if you had only been a little less crazy.....

I had to share...

If ever asked what Carter's favorite food is, I would say without hesitation that it's olives. I don't know where this love came from but it's there. He will pick every single olive out of his dinner and then ask for "Mo" (more). He cracks me up. I usually buy the olives that are already sliced but the other day I bought some whole ones for him. Needless to say, he loves them.

update

Thanks for all the advice and sympathy:)

So after two naps and one night of sleeping on the floor, it seems that Carter has figured out that the bed is more comfortable. He fell asleep on the floor last night so I went and put him in his bed. I'm pretty sure he slept there all night. And then for his nap this morning, I put him in bed then heard him trying to open the door a couple minutes later. I went to check on him about 10 minutes after that and he was asleep ON HIS BED!! Yay! He got out and then climbed back in! I'm so excited that he's figuring it out. Now onto the switch from his crib-turned-toddlerbed to the actual toddler bed and THEN moving Jude into Carter's room and into his crib. We'll see how that goes....From this.......

To this! I didn't get an actual sleeping picture but it really did happen!

advice needed

I'm in need of some advice on the transition from a crib to a toddler bed. Carter has mastered the art of climbing out of his crib. Luckily, he can't open doors yet so once he's out of bed he's still stuck in his room. It makes me nervous to think of him scaling the walls of his crib though. So last week we went out in search of a new crib (for Jude) and came home with a toddler bed for Carter instead. But ever since we set up the new bed and put it in his room, Carter has HATED it! If any of his things (blankets, stuffed animals, etc) are on it, he freaks out and pulls them off onto the floor. If we ever set him on it, he cries and struggles to get off as fast as possible. So last night, we switched his crib to a bed (took off the front panel and put on the little guard rail), hoping that would make the transition smoother. He was ok with that until he noticed the missing wall. He eventually fell asleep on the floor. I went in and moved him onto his bed before we went to bed. In the morning, he was asleep on the floor again right in front of the door. It's very sad. I don't understand why the floor is a better option than the bed...??? I just put him down for a nap and so far no crying but I hear him playing around in there. We'll see how it goes. Any advice on this subjust would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Just some cute ones

the same shirt

Here's Carter on the day before his first birthday

And here's Jude at almost 3 months old, wearing the same shirt as pictured above

Cross your fingers

Carter always has his fingers crossed these days. I have no idea why but unless his hands are otherwise occupied, his fingers are crossed on one or both hands.

a sling

Did I win a sling? No. Did I make a sling? Yes! And Jude loves it. And, yes, I'm chewing in this picture.

It's not always easy being mommy

Today was a day I've been dreading for months. Jude's 2 month appointment and Carter's 18 month appointment at the same time! 3 shots for each, yikes. Luckily, Dennison was sweet enough to take an early lunch and come with me. Other than the shots, my boys did great! They're both healthy and happy and growing fast! Here's their stats:Jude: 13 lbs 13 ozs (80th percentile) and 24.75 inches (90th percentile)

Carter: 22 lbs 13 ounces (10th percentile) and 33 inches (75th percentile)

They're both sleeping now, but wish me luck for the rest of the day!

Christmas videos

Dennison got the awesome song in a text message from Rascal Flats (it's a long story) and when Carter heard it, he started to do this little dance.

Carter's Christmas present

Super long Christmas post

We had a wonderful Christmas! We got to spend a week in Utah visiting family and friends. It was a little scary at first because of all the snow - we didn't know if our flight would be cancelled - but we made it with only a couple hours waiting in the airport and on the plane before take-off. We had a blast and we were so busy! I took TONS of pictures, hence the extremely long post. There's just so many great pictures from the week that I had to share. And they have all loaded in reverse order so here's our trip, starting from yesterday and ending before Christmas. Enjoy! Above, is Carter's new favorite ball (from grandma and grandpa) with his feet inside while in the bathtub.

We traveled back home yesterday and Carter had a fever all day long. Here he is with all the blankets he gathered to snuggle with.

And here's the Christmas miracle. Dennison and Carter both fell asleep on the plane!

My mom, me, Carter, Annie, and Jude. Dain took the picture and little Price was sleeping.

Carter loved grandma and grandpa's big bathtub!

My cute little nephew Liam helping Carter at the Bean Museum

Carter fell asleep in the car on the way to the museum so he still wanted his blanket while checking out the animals. Notice his sweeeeeet boots, they will make several appearances throughout the post. They're the first shoes he has that he can put on all by himself and so he does every chance he gets. So cute. And so funny.

My little cousin Megan got a new kitten for Christmas. That was the turning point for Carter on Christmas night. There was a lot of unfamiliar people when we first walked into my grandparents house and Carter would not let me put him down.... until he saw the kitty.

There was plenty of foosball played throughout the week. I'm pretty sure I'm still undefeated:)

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas! And HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!
