Wowzers, time is just flying by. Vienna is a month old already!! She's our little angel baby. She has been so amazingly good her entire life :) But especially this last week, spending so much time in the hospital. She is so content and still sleeps a lot. A week ago, she smiled at me for the first time! She is just such a happy baby, we are seeing smiles more and more. She's been getting all sorts of attention from all the doctors and nurses. They loved to come ooh and aah over her and tell us how pretty she is. Like we don't already know that. In a nutshell, she's amazing and we love her so much.
I tried to capture a smile. You know how those first smiles are.... very elusive. And sorry about the hairy legs in the background. No, they're NOT mine.
We got kinda bored at the hospital...
She's such a sweetheart.

I can't think of an adequate title for this post so it will remain title-less. Late Thursday night, Carter was diagnosed with leukemia. He's been in the hospital ever since and has started chemotherapy. Everything's going well so far. I've started another blog for updates and to tell Carter's story to all interested. Feel free to check it out, I plan on updating it often.
Carter and Jude each opened the gifts they had picked out for each other on Christmas Eve. Carter got a transformer from Jude and Jude got a Lightening McQueen that changes colors in water from Carter. Carter likes his transformer alright but they fought over the car all night.
(and who's the lame family that didn't decorate their Christmas tree?? Oh yeah, that was us.)
This is Jude showing Daddy his new car.
Christmas was so fun this year! Grandpa Harris and Aunt April came to spend the Holiday with us. The boys loved opening all their gifts. After opening each one, they wanted to stop and play with it. That was fine with me because it made the gift-opening last a little longer, which is always good. We didn't even get to the stockings until about noon! Carter loves trains and he cried when we "didn't buy" this train set for him about a month ago. He was very excited that Santa brought it to him.
This boy is a puzzle whiz. He is so good at them! I was thinking we should've given him some more for Christmas but Grandma and Grandpa were on top of it!
As you may remember, Jude loves cars. We have a great video of him opening these cars and doing a happy dance while yelling, "CARS CARS CARS!!!" Pretty dang cute.
And the new car track for all those cars.
Vienna just loved her first Christmas :)
Jude got some new animal magnets. I know I haven't posted much about our new house so here's another little glimpse. Before we painted the boys room, we put a magnetic paint on the wall underneath their window. After about three coats you just paint over it with your wall color. It's pretty cool and the boys love it. The only problem is that the heater vent in the floor is right below it and Jude thinks it's a great game to put things down there. So hopefully the magnets aren't his next victim. But if they are, at least they'll have some good company down at the bottom, wherever all the other stuff ended up. It's a good thing he's so cute....
My mom is the best. Ever. She came for about 10 days after Vienna was born to help out. We all LOVED having her here and missed Grandpa. And now we're missing both of them.
Carter loves to be on the counter when I'm cooking or cleaning. My mom was nice enough to let him up there and "help" her. I think he was fishing in the dishwater in this picture.
Look how happy Jude was to be playing with Grandma.
She took the boys on a lot of walks and bike rides. Even in the rain! What a trooper.
Outside on one of their walks.
They loved having Grandma read to them before bed.
She helped Carter make this reindeer by tracing his hands and foot for the antlers and face. He wanted it on the fridge and, as you can see, did not want it to fall off. You can hardly tell that it's a reindeer under all those magnets!
Carter took this picture of us on the day she left. Thanks again Mom! I don't know what we would've done without your help and support! We love you!!
While my mom was here and we were all dressed for church, I wanted to take a few pictures of all 5 of us. As you know from experience or can imagine, that's not the easiest task. But here they are.
And Carter's mouth is blue from the candy cane he got in nursery. Oh well.
This was the first time he wanted to hold her. She was 1 day shy of being 2 weeks old.
Jude loves to hold her. I have to keep reminding him that he can only pick her up when I'm helping him. He gets a little too excited sometimes.
Carter loves taking pictures. This is one of his shots. I like it because it kinda looks like Vienna's smiling.
And this is the best one we could come up with of all 3 of them together.
I know this picture is kinda blurry but it's too cute to not include.
My baby and my giant
She is just so sweet.
Jude LOVES her! I have to keep a close eye on him because he's always trying to pick her up. The above picture was taken after I'd left her on the couch for less than a minute to go answer the phone. I came back and found that Jude had picked her up and pulled her on top of him. "I'm holding Vienna!!" He was very proud of himself and it made me very nervous.
She's had some visitors! Lindsay and Van came to see our little beauty last week. Van wasn't sure what to think about her now, but we all know that soon enough they'll be best friends. And Grandma's been here taking good care of all of us.
