Carter had been playing in his room for a while. When I went to get him, this is what I found. All his clothes were thrown out of his drawer and he had taken their place. He was very proud of himself.

more pictures for grandma

Carter and I get to hang out with our friend Lindsay sometimes! Last week we went to see her and Carter loved playing on her couch cause it's so nice a fluffy. His hair is getting very long and rebellious.

He even managed to climb all the way up onto the back of the couch so he could reach the blinds.

He is becoming very attached to this blanket. He sleeps with it every night and in the morning he won't leave his crib without it. During the day he usually forgets about it.

Carter is also very funny about his pacifiers. I usually only give it to him during nap and bed time and when we're in public and he's too loud, like during church. Sometimes I'll search everywhere for one and finally just give up and then he'll come crawling into the living room with one in his mouth and one in his hand. He must hide them for emergencies. As you can see, he likes to hold onto it while he eats and takes short paci breaks in between bites. But my favorite is when he has one in his mouth and one in his hand and keeps switching back and forth. It cracks me up every time!

new baby

As some of you more observant friends may have noticed, we are expecting a new baby in Oct!! Yea!! I had to preface the Multnomah Falls pics with this announcement because in a few of the photos I sure do look prego.... and for good reason, I AM!!

Multnomah Falls

Last weekend was absolutely beautiful! So sunny and warm and fun. On saturday we went to Multnomah Falls with some friends. We hiked up to the top and, I won't lie, it was kinda hard. Maybe that's cause I don't even remember the last time I went hiking. It was so gorgeous though, and well worth being out of breath. Multnomah Falls is the tallest waterfall in Oregon and the second tallest year-round waterfall in the US!

This was at the top of the Columbia River Gorge. So pretty but very windy. As you can see by my ponytail sticking straight sideways.

Preparing for the hike.

At the top! Not the best picture but the view of the river was incredible.

At the top facing the other direction. Sorry I look so weird.

On the hike. The helicopter hat is in honor of Ricky Ticky (my brother the chopper pilot)

We made it back down. And he's spent...... After the hike, we finished off our workout with a nice greasy burger and fries!

funny boy

Carter has very sensitive hands. This is the quilt that I'm finally finishing (I started is when I was pregnant with Carter). It was funnier the first time he touched the batting but of course, I didn't have the camera out then. This isn't his first sensitive hand experience. Dennison handed him a marshmallow and he would not hold onto it. He would drop it and then shake his hand out. It was so funny. And the feel of grass makes him cry every time. What a sheltered life he leads....

cute photos

Carter always crosses his little feet when he drinks his bottle. I think it's so cute.

He can stand up by himself now. He's been practicing a lot, just letting go of the couch or crib or whatever he's holding onto but just lately he stays standing when we put him down in the middle of the room.
